NBC Camps has expanded its mission of educational and leadership excellence to the fine arts. Hesperus Arts, a division of NBC Camps, provides campers with an unforgettable opportunity to improve their skills in the fine arts. Students are placed in teaching groups based on ability and previous training. Please do not place your students in the intensive unless they have been singing and performing for a few years.
NBC's HESPERUS ARTS CAMP INFORMATION
The Hesperus Arts International MT Training program is a comprehensive musical theater training camp that is designed for those who love musical theater. This camp will work to help you improve your dance, singing, and acting abilities. If you love musical theater enough to work hard, you will love this camp. International Arts Camps are partners with NBC Basketball Camps which focus on providing intensive talent development, high expectations, and Christian values in an encouraging and positive environment.
Improve your skills in a small group setting with great instruction. Enhance your vocal quality, pitch, musicality, and performance authority with our voice classes. Learn to read monologues and prepare them for auditions. Find ways to pick the strongest choices for a stronger delivery. Get energized and excited with our dance classes from beginner to advanced!

Hesperus Junior Day Theatre Camp
Voice, Acting, Dance Training Summer Day Junior Camp
New Date: Tuesday-Friday August 20-23
Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm
Final parent showcase: 3pm-4pm Friday, August 23, 2024
Training Includes: Voice Dance, and Acting, skills evaluation, t-shirt, and recommendations for future improvement. This camp lays down fundamental skills for beginners to advanced and focuses on accurate technique for voice in classical, belt, mix. In dance focus is on building talent, and in acting focus is on monologue work. This camp emphasizes proper techniques and building a powerful musical theatre foundation.
Musical Theater INTENSIVE Summer Day Teen Camp
Location: River City Church
New Date: Tuesday-Friday August 20-23
Boys and Girls ages 12-18
Time: 9:00am - 4:00 pm
Final day 9am-8pm Dinner served on the final day
Final parent showcase: 7-8pm Friday, August 23, 2024
Training includes: Voice, Dance and Acting, skills evaluation, and t-shirt. This camp is intensive and will focus on performance authority, polishing skills, improv, audition prep, and enhancing talent.
WHAT TO BRING FOR SUMMER 2024 DAY CAMPS:
Students should wear clothing that they can move in freely and are both modest as well as comfortable. Dance shoes are optional. Those with jazz or ballet shoes and tap shoes please bring them each session. Campers should bring snacks and packed lunch. Water bottles labeled with your name are required. Campers will receive a complete packet after they have registered that outlines all the details of this camp including what to bring.
Campers will be rehearsing in the River City Church building. There will be a final session for parents to come and observe on the final day.

Hesperus is the evening star and it is a simple reminder that performing is a gift to God. Camp is based on the verse Philippians 2:15, "That you may prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God in a corrupt world, to whom you appear at stars in the sky."
Performing theatre is a great gift. An opportunity to grow in singing, dancing, acting and performance authority. We want to help you walk out of camp a stronger singer, dancer and actor.

Hesperus-Arts will be hosted at River City Church convenient for its mid Spokane city location with ample parking. The facility has a large performance hall, and plenty of space for individual training groups and sessions.

Please register your student for the regular musical theatre program. We will move your student to intensive if we feel that camp is a better fit.

Camp Vocal and acting Coach Natalya Fisher
Natalya is a recent graduate from Oklahoma City University where she received her B.F.A in Acting. She has worked around the country at various theaters. Favorite credits include The Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol and Madeleine Astor in Titanic at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma. She is also a graduate from The Oaks Classical Christian Academy. A member of Actors' Equity Association, she now lives with her husband in New York City auditioning and teaching voice and acting lessons.

Vocal coach and camp coordinator Jennifer Crowell Ferch
Jennifer Crowell Ferch will be helping to conduct the fifth summer of Hesperus Arts Theatre Camp.Jennifer Ferch is the daughter of NBC Camps President Fred Crowell and she is very familiar with camp and how to help campers improve in the camp setting. She is a vocal performance graduate from Biola University in Southern California and has a master's in psychology from Gonzaga.

Master Teacher Dance Instructor Angela Pierson
Angela has trained in all styles of dance throughout the country since the age of three. Some training credits include the Paris Summer tour with SDF Productions, Radio City Rockette Experience, The Pulse, Tap into the Network, New York City Dance Alliance, Steps on Broadway, and Broadway Dance Center.

Acting Coach Suzanne Maguire
Suzanne Maguire is teaching artist passionate about the many ways Theatre develops essential skills for all. Her workshops focus on giving young actors tools to succeed in their best next step. Suzanne is Associate Director of Tiger Drama at Lewis & Clark High School in Spokane, WA and owns SpokaneActing, coaching actors of all ages and stages. www.spokaneacting.com

Camp Counselor Ariana Ferch
Ariana is a senior musical theatre and vocal performance student at Oklahoma City University and a local area performer with CDA summer theatre. Ariana placed second in musical theatre and as well as in vocal performance in the NATS Texacoma regional voice competitions. Some of her favorite roles have been Mary Poppins, Lady Macbeth, and Margo in Bright Star. She will be assisting students in singing and dancing.

Assistant Coach Isabella-Ferch
Isabella has been performing since the age of two. At the age of four, HBO flew her to NYC to perform in their poetry for children series. She has been in professional regional theatre in the shows of Mamma Mia, Chitty, Chitty, Bang Bang, Beauty and the Beast and more. Some of her favorite roles have been Elsa in Frozen, Puck in Midsummer Night's Dream, and Marian in Music Man.
