Purposeful Parenting
One of the joys of parenting is the opportunity to help shape a young life to be fulfilled in their life calling. Being a purposeful parent is the mission to find out ways to help come alongside your son or daughter to help them be all God designed them to be.
As parents, we help navigate bedtime, meals, talent development, home structure, and so many aspects of a child’s life. Some parents are controlling, and some are more hands-off. Finding a balance that works in the best interest of your son or daughter is important.
Structure provides security, peace, momentum, and safety—too much structure can equate to anger, resentment, restriction, and a feeling of oppression. Autonomy can help create strong independence, creativity, openness but can also lead to chaotic living, dangerous consequences, and a feeling of being alone.
Work to decide what structure is necessary and clearly outline boundaries that help to build intrinsic lifelong qualities such as love and appreciation for learning, healthy living, and compassionate engagement with the world.
