How to Build Unshakable Confidence
"Confidence-- with it you can, without it, you can't."
Unshakable confidence is built on a true and accurate foundation; it is solid, permanent, sand something no one can take from you. Having unshakable confidence makes you bulletproof; no painful words can penetrate and shake you.
Many people don't know how to have unshakable confidence and live in a place of instability. If someone praises them, they are sky high. If someone criticizes them, they feel low and insecure. These athletes lack permanent confidence -- no permanent foundation. Therefore, they are unable to rise above or overcome. Some athletes are overly confident which leads to a faulty foundation, creating the potential for a humiliating fall.
Great athletes and people need to build a solid foundation that will allow them to stand firm at the right moment without wavering or being nervous; a foundation that makes them steady under pressure and ready to handle any situation with poise and strength.
Here is a short acronym as a reminder of how to build unshakable confidence.
P-Prepare: Great preparation creates opportunities for great moments. Most athletes are under-prepared. Decide ahead of time what you want to achieve. Write your own goals and look at them every day. If you aspire to be great and separate yourself from the rest, research says you need to put in the dedicated time and intensity to be prepared.
E-Eliminate: People who want unshakable confidence must work to eliminate distractions and vices which take away their confidence or blind them to overconfidence. You need to eliminate things like negative talk, laziness, jealousy ,and having no goals.
A-Accomplish: Accomplish means to fulfill, complete, finish what you started, follow through, to succeed. The opposite of accomplishment is to fail, give up, abandon. Develop unshakable confidence by becoming a person of accomplishment. If you are faithful in the small tasks, you will be faithful in the big tasks. Be known as someone who finishes what he or she sets out to do.
K- Know: Know what you can do and what you cannot do. Know what you need to improve and how to improve. The greater your capacity to learn, the greater your confidence will become because it will be grounded in truth.
Confidence comes from faith in yourself in knowing that you are prepared.-- John Wooden
