NEBRASKA 2025 Basketball Summer Camp Registration Opens in November!
Located at Union Adventist University in Lincoln, NE, NBC Basketball is hosting a boys' overnight basketball camp. These camps are designed for players who are passionate about basketball and are willing to work hard to improve. Led by a top-notch NBC coaching staff, campers will work on skill development, full-court gameplay, sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership. Boys Complete Player Basketball Camps
Dates: coming soon | Age Group: Boys 12-17 years old
OVERNIGHT CAMPER INFORMATION
Daily Times for Overnight & Extended Day: First-day check-in begins at 12:30 pm for overnight and extended day campers. Extended Day times from 8:30 am-9:30 pm daily and end on the final day at 4:00 pm with the overnight campers (Director will provide exact drop-off and pick-up times)
EXTENDED DAY CAMPER SCHEDULE & INFORMATION
First day: 12:30 pm-9:30 pm. Dinner provided.
Middle days: 8:30 am-9:30 pm. Lunch and dinner are provided.
Last day: 8:30 am-4:00 pm.
Extended-day campers DO NOT sleep on campus or eat breakfast on campus.
CAMP DESCRIPTIONS
Complete Player Camps offer training in all aspects of the sport including leadership and confidence training. NBC's Complete Player basketball curriculum is all-encompassing to help athletes develop and master skills to play the game of basketball with excellence. Complete Player Camps offer overnight (complete program training) and extended day options for those who commute to and from camp each morning and evening.
ROOMMATES & HOUSING
Roommates for this site need to be requested at least two weeks before camp begins. If you have no preference, we will match you with a camper of the same gender and similar age. Contact nbc@nbccamps.com if you need to add a roommate request.

Bathrooms: Campers share a common bathroom
Supervision: boys and girls are separated into different dorms or different floors with coaches of the same gender staying in the dorms for supervision.
INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & OTHER
Ratio: approximately a 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, skill, and experience.
Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own athletic equipment and have at least one pair of well-broken-in basketball (court) shoes. Campers do need to bring their own ball (clearly labeled with their name).
Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
Allergies/Dietary Restrictions/Medical Concerns: please include this on your registration so campus staff and camp staff can be prepared for your camper's arrival and meals.
HEALTH & RELEASE FORMS
All registered campers are required to have a parent or legal guardian fill out the mandatory Health & Release Forms online before arrival at camp. This camp does NOT require a doctor's signature on the forms.
CAMP INFORMATION PACKET
A detailed Camp Information Packet containing check-in location and address, on-site staff contact information, a checklist of things to bring, site-specific forms, and more will be emailed to all registered campers prior to camp. To check if your Camp Information Packet is ready, click here.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your son on time.

Overnight Camp - Sample Schedule
- 8:00 am Breakfast
- 9:00 am Ball handling/dribbling drills and competitions
- 10:00 am Individual offensive breakdown, attack moves and finishing, shooting
- 11:30 am Competitive drills and play such as shooting games, small sided games, and live scrimmage
- 12:00 pm Lunch
- 1:00 pm Defensive strategy (individual and team work)
- 1:45 pm Shooting fundamentals and correction, shooting focused workouts
- 2:30 pm Live play 3-on-3 to 5-on-5
- 5:00 pm Dinner
- 6:00 pm Evening Program (life skills/leadership training, small group discussions)
- 7:30 pm Fun basketball activities and competitions such as mini-tournaments, intensity night, and short full court games
- 9:00 pm Extended day dismissal
- 10:00 pm Lights out

Camp Director Drew Mekelburg
Drew Mekelburg is the Athletic Director and Men's basketball coach at Union College. It is his fifth year as the head coach. He has lived in Lincoln for most of his life. He is married to his wife Maile Mekelburg who is a teacher at Beattie Elementary. The first seven years of his career he was an elementary PE teacher at Belmont teaching K-5 PE. He loves coaching, traveling, being active any way he can, and watching as many Nuggets, Avalanche, Broncos and Rockies games as possible!
