Over the last decade, Coach Fred Crowell has led Northwest Basketball Camps to be a powerhouse in the world of sports camps. Crowell dedicated much of his life to the creation of an effective coaching method to teach basketball skills directed toward getting the absolute maximizing each athletes' effort and improvement.The CROWELL CLINIC FOR BASKETBALL COACHES is designed to be a state-of-the-art basketball coaching clinic. This powerful coaching clinic will empower coaches to be the best they have ever been in coaching their teams.

Fred Crowell has over 37 years of coaching experience. At the age of 23 he became the youngest Division I basketball coach in thecountry at the University of Alaska.
In 1971, Fred Crowell began Northwest Basketball Camp. Over 30 years later, NBC Camps is now located in 18 different cities and operates in four countries.
Crowell's deep passion for coaching and for implementing a transformational approach to helping coaches maximize their potential has contributed to NBC's success and has led to these exciting clinics.

The coaching clinic will offer 15 hours of clock time. It will include classroom time (chalk talk) and gym sessions (with athlete demonstrations).

The Crowell Clinic for Basketball Coaches will cover in great detail:
1. BUILDING YOUR COACHING FOUNDATION
The more clear you are in what you expect, the better you are at setting your expectations.

2. UNDERSTANDING THE GAME
Mastering two game essentials: Controlling momentum and tempo. Teaching points include: game plan for substitutions, building team leadership, teaching your captain to be effective, team unity, attitude, and teaching quickness and intensity.

3. INDIVIDUAL BASKETBALL SKILLS
Focus will be on clear and effective teaching points about the fundamental skills of basketball.

4. TEAM BASKETBALL
The game of basketball is often won or lost on a team's ability to score or defend in special situations. Well coached teams are prepared for these critical times. Baseline plays, sideline special plays, and quick hitters will be covered in detail.
(Principles of team offense and defense, ball movement, spacing, cuts, screens, help and recover, traps, presses, fast breaks.)

5. DESIGNING PLAYS
For every set – offense, baseline, sideline, defense, presses, defending a lead, and quick hitters.

6. TEAM MANAGEMENT
Practice outlines and timeframes, conditioning, discipline, communication with parents, job descriptions, and how to clearly communicate your message.
